Robin Soderling continued his improved play and remained focused through his final match against 2007 winner Mikkail Youzhny, who had defeated Novak Djokovic in the semis. With a semifinal win over Davydenko and the championship in and, Soderling improved his 2010 record to 5-2.

The Rotterdam win was Soderling’s fifth in 12 finals on the pro tour. The 20th ranked Youhzny had a good week but was aggravated by a leg injury incurred in his match with Gael Monfils. Youzhny had to retire trailing 2-0 in the second set.
